When I first time read the name of it, I simply thought it's just a book which talk about a guy's great future. But in fact, that's not the truth. Actually, "远大前程" is the Chinese translation of "Great Expectations", which has a meaning of satire
Look through the whole novel, I had found some philosophies the author want to tell us, such as "Love" and "The influence from environment to people's thought".
Next, I will expand my article from the two philosophies.
The influence from environment to people's thought
This is the first topic I would like to talk about.
In Pip's childhood, he was kink and pure because of the environment he lived in. At that period, Pip's ideal was to be a blacksmith like his sister's husband, without knowing what "The Upper Class" is.
Nevertheless, all this end up by a turning point later. Pip accidently got a chance to have an education for the upper class in London. So he start to, and even crazy about becoming one of the upper class.
Therefore, this is one of the Dickens' philosophies, which explains what is "different environments can make different people". In the matter of fact, this reflects social environment does have a connection with people's behavior.
Love
Reading through the whole novel, I had noticed the story actually showed a number of types of love. For instances, Pip's unfailing love for Estella, Pip's brotherly love for Herbolt, etc.
However, the which most impressive me among all there love is the Joe's selfless and pure love for Pip.
Joe's thick but pure personality as a kindhearted little man at the bottom of society helped Pip went through the hardest time he ever had.
